Schiaparelli & Prada: Impossible Conversations

Had a good time at the Schiaparelli & Prada exhibit at the MET in NY.
This enjoyable exhibit features the innovative work of these two Italian designers & shows some of their most iconic, influential pieces.

It showcases numerous designs & accessories from the 20's to the 50's by Schiaparelli, a prominent designer known for her imaginative & modern designs, graphic knit patterns & colored zippers as well as her association with the Surrealist movement & collaboration with contemporary surrealist artists such as Dali. Along with Coco Chanel she was one the most influential figures in the industry & is still known for her creative outstanding pieces, such as the Shoe Hat or the Lobster Dress. She worked in Fashion Capital Paris where she established her house, until its closing in the mid 50's.

If you have a soft spot for Prada you'll enjoy strolling in the museum & looking at pieces from collections from the late 80's to nowadays & seeing the evolution of the fashion house directed by Muccia Prada who inherited the brand in 1978 & saw its popularity skyrocketing worldwide with its trademark clean lines & basic colors, in addition to celebs & super models like Miranda Kerr fronting ads.

Can't wait to go back to Sears & check out the new KK collection from the Kardashian sisters...
Love some of the pieces I bought from their fall/winter collection in december, one of them is a KK Tee-Shirt I wear all the time...

Having so much fun watching their TV shows & shopping at Dash in the city.. they're all gorgeous & lovely but my favorites are Khloe & Kourtney.. especially Kourtney who's always stylish & a beautiful mom & wife.

 Their book "Dollhouse" is an addictive read & a real page turner.. bought it back in november at their book signing in NY. If you're looking for a summer read on the beach you won't be disappointed by this fun novel written with the directness coming from the sisters, giving you a little insight into Hollywood & showing what it takes to come from a famous family & being a celebrity.

Charlotte York

As a huge fan of TV show "Sex & the City" I'd like to pay tribute to my favorite character Charlotte, her sweet personality & optimism on life.

During the show we see that Charlotte is stronger than we originally could have thought & is more of a leader than a follower.. It's said that she was a straight A student, high school Prom Queen, cheerleader, teen model & member of a sorority in college! Moreover she had to cope with a divorce, struggled with fertility problems & a miscarriage, but managed to put all her troubles behind her & be happy with second hubby Harry Goldenblatt while being the proud mom of their two adorable daughters..

If you'd like to steal some of Charlotte's fashion tips & recreate her look, try to choose items with pastel colors & delicate details such as lace, embroidery or ruffles.. If you have a small waist draw the attention to it with belts, pencil skirts & dresses fitted on top & flowing at the bottom..
Finally stick with classic prints & patterns, pastel makeup & glossy hair.

As a massive New York & SATC lover I was all excited to follow in Charlotte, Carrie & the other girl's footsteps during the "Sex & the City Tour" where you can have a bus ride in the city & visit the locations where the girls drank, ate, danced & gossiped.. among them "Magnolia Bakery" for cupcakes fans or French restaurant "Pastis"
